Welcome to the 2009 Scotney Castle Guardianship Garden Club. Due to it's popularity this year we have three groups: Butterflies, Ladybirds and Hedgehogs!

Each week the groups will take it in turn to help grow their own produce in the vegetable garden at the school. In addition to this, we will be taking small groups to the walled garden at Scotney Castle, where the children will help create a brand new veg plot.

Once they have grown their own fantastic veg, they will be boxing it up and presenting it for the older members of the community to take home with them after their lunch at the school on Wednesdays.

In return, the children will be interviewing the older members to find out if they have any recipes ideas which involve vegetables. The children will be producing a booklet for the whole community to read and to try out some of the recipes suggested.

That's not all! We will also be creating a wildlife area with a pond - so it will be a very busy year ahead!

Happy gardening!
